Lost Vape Centaurus BT200, what Bluetooth changes on the mod

Lost Vape Centaurus BT200, what Bluetooth changes on the mod

The Centaurus M200 was set with a dial and asked for nothing beyond two batteries. The Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 keeps the outline and adds something no earlier Centaurus offered, an app that talks to the chip over Bluetooth. The real question is what that link changes in use, and what the published spec sheets actually say, because they do not all tell the same story.

Lost Vape Centaurus BT200, a Centaurus run from your phone

The Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 is a dual 18650 box mod, batteries not included, adjustable from 5 to 200 W and driven by the Quest X 3.0 chip. Lost Vape announced it on 7 August 2025 as the world’s first smart Bluetooth-controlled box mod, a launch claim the brand does not back up any further.

Three things set it apart from the rest of the range. A 2.4-inch colour screen fills the front, a Bluetooth 5.1 link connects it to a mobile app, and the chip offers seven vaping modes. The body stays true to the family, in brushed aluminium alloy and stainless steel.

The Quest X 3.0 chip and its modes, two lists that disagree

The official product page announces seven modes without naming them. Finding out which ones means cross-checking sources, and that is where it gets interesting, because Lost Vape’s own announcement and the retailers do not give the same list.

The seven modes according to retailers

A French retailer and an American retailer give the same list. It covers power, voltage, a Turbo mode, VPC, which lets you draw a power curve, and three temperature control modes for SS316 stainless steel, nickel and titanium. The French listing adds three boost levels, Soft, Norm and Hard. That makes exactly seven modes.

The list in Lost Vape’s announcement

The launch article published by Lost Vape also mentions seven modes, but not the same ones. It names power, coil temperature control, Bypass, a curve mode, then Soft, Hard and Eco. In other words, it mixes what retailers call modes with what they call boost levels, and it is the only source to mention Bypass.

What a published review found

A full review published by the French site Oneshot Media in September 2025 matches the retailers’ list and notes that VPC also goes by the name Curve. It adds that boost is not available in Turbo mode and regrets the lack of a Smart mode, the assistant that sets the power for you on other mods. The same piece describes the controls as a rotary dial ringed with a light, a Set button and a power slider, finds the screen too dim in direct sunlight, and feels the app is mostly useful for the wallpaper and for usage tracking rather than for in-depth settings. It also notes that Bluetooth drops when the mod is switched off and does not reconnect on its own.

Before relying on Bypass, check that it actually appears on the device’s own menu.

What the Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 app lets you set

The app is the whole point of the Lost Vape Centaurus BT200. According to Lost Vape’s announcement, it adjusts wattage, temperature control curves and preheat, and locks the device. It displays puff count and duration, coil resistance and battery level.

The brand also lists daily charts covering puffs, usage time, average wattage and battery condition, plus the option to set a daily limit or time slots during which the mod stays locked. Data is stored on the phone, with cloud backup described as optional.

The cosmetic side matters just as much. The screen offers five interface themes and six wallpaper slots, and the app can upload a personal image to it.

One point is worth checking before you buy. Lost Vape’s product page shows one link to the App Store and another to Android, while a French retailer’s listing says the connection works on Android phones only. iPhone owners should search Apple’s store for the app before choosing this mod for its Bluetooth link.

Screen, body and colours compared with the M200

The BT200 is recognisable first by its front panel. The table below sets out what Lost Vape and the published listings give for the two dual battery mods in the Centaurus range.

The outline barely moves, by less than a millimetre on each dimension. What changes is the electronics and what they display, whereas the Centaurus M200 and its manual relied on a dial and restraint. The BT200 gains the temperature control the M200 lacked and gives up variety of finish in return, with five colours only, Pink Purple, Platinum Ridge, Platinum Crest, Silver Carbon and Black Carbon.

The BT200 kit and its UK version

The mod is sold on its own or as a kit with the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 tank. That combination is built for direct lung vaping, which points the device towards vapers already comfortable with high wattage.

The tank pairs an SS303 stainless steel body with a glass tube, fills from the top with a lock against accidental opening, and takes its airflow from the top. Lost Vape lists three UB Max V2 coils, 0.15 ohm for 80 to 120 W, 0.2 ohm for 60 to 80 W and 0.3 ohm for 40 to 60 W.

The international tank holds 5 or 3 ml depending on the tube, but Lost Vape specifies 2 ml for every TPD version, and that is the one sold in the UK, where refillable tanks are capped at 2 ml. The TPD kit comes with the 2 ml tank, a spare 2 ml glass tube and two coils, 0.15 and 0.3 ohm. Any nicotine e-liquid you put in it is limited to 20 mg/ml and to 10 ml bottles under UK rules.

On safety, the product page lists four protections, against short circuits, low batteries and overheating, plus a cut-off after ten seconds of continuous firing. Charging is through USB-C at 5 V and 2 A, and cooling is passive.

Those protections do not replace care with the batteries themselves. On a mod that reaches 200 W, the current drawn should be compared with the continuous discharge rating printed by the battery maker, not with the wattage on screen, and the two 18650s should stay a married pair, bought together and charged together.

FAQ

Five questions the spec sheets leave open, beyond the app and the modes.

Does the BT200 take 21700 batteries?

No. The official page lists two external 18650 batteries, not included, and mentions no adapter for any other size.

Does the mod work without a phone?

Yes. The app adds to the controls rather than replacing them, and the mod’s dial, Set button and slider cover every setting without a phone. The Bluetooth link stays optional.

What diameter is the kit tank?

Lost Vape gives two sizes for the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2, 26.8 or 30 mm across depending on the tube fitted, with a height of 58.5 mm in both cases.

Which coils fit the tank?

The official page lists the UB Max V2 coils at 0.15, 0.2 and 0.3 ohm, all for direct lung vaping. The first generation Centaurus Sub Ohm tank is also listed as compatible with the mod.

Can the wallpaper be a personal photo?

Yes. The app lets you upload an image to one of the six slots provided. The screen also comes with five built-in interface themes.

Lost Vape Centaurus BT200, a mod best judged by its app

The Centaurus BT200 keeps the M200’s footprint to within a millimetre and changes everything underneath, with a Quest X 3.0 chip, three temperature control modes and a large colour screen. Its modes are easier to read on the device than in the announcement, and app support on iPhone is worth checking before buying.

Anyone choosing the Lost Vape Centaurus BT200 for its Bluetooth is mainly buying usage tracking and a customisable screen. That yardstick applies to any connected mod, whose finish is now judged on the phone screen as well as in the hand.
